Is it okay after you accidentally let out a large deep belch to say, "It's better to burp to bear the Shame not to burp to bear the pain"?

I'm from the UK and in my family at least we don't have the habit of saying grace over dinner. I used to date a girl who lived in Virginia and though she wasn't overly religious her and her family would say grace and one thing they were grateful for that day. They understood I wasn't religious and didn't expect me to join in apart from naming something I was grateful for but it did make me think and be mindful of other families' traditions.

Looking at this from the suggestion on your latest video. In college I had the opportunity to take an "etiquette dinner," as part of a group with a coach that walked us through an entire formal meal. I thought it was just going to be kind of an interesting experience to say that I'd done, and it ended up being one of the most valuable lessons I had!

Those are some very good manners to follow. Also, I hate when people just take up way too much space and spread out legs and arms so that they touch you almost all the time while ur eating

  7. It's been a while since I've watched your videos, you've come a long way, man, congratulations! Also… in Brazil, if you're on time, you're too late! xD

Is there any etiquettes that were important in the past but should be avoided now??

  9. what i have learned (by experience): no bare feet on dinner table unless you are actually clipping toenails. and dont eat the nail after (the only exception is if it falls onto the plate and gets hopelessly lost in the sauce. and if you find it dont yell YEAAAAA GOT'EM BOIIIII!!!). if you follow these simple rules, you will be GOLDEN! 👍

We recently hosted American visitors from our company’s US office. At the dinner it turned out the Americans knew not how to eat with knife and fork. Rather, they ate in a manner I had never seen before: They sort of pre-emptively chopped up all of the food, and then put the knife aside and started moving the ready-made pieces to the mouth one by one using the fork. It looked like a toddler learning to eat, and was horrible to watch.

If there is a plate under a bowl of soup, put the spoon on the plate in between eating and before server takes it away. BREAK off small pieces of bread and then butter the one (small) piece before putting it in your mouth. Do not butter the whole roll and chomp into it. Wait till the hostess/host picks up her fork. THAT is the signal for everyone to start eating. If unsure of what fork/knife/spoon, LOOK at the hostess/host or other guests and see what they are doing. Always pass salt and pepper containers together. Do NOT stick your little finger in the air when drinking from a tea or coffee cup: it was a signal to others in the 1700's that you had syphilis…. that will keep ANYONE from ever thinking that that pinky in the air is elegant!

The one you said bring your plate to you I see that one broken a lot in my time I like the way you described it you're not an animal it's not a feeding trough

  13. About 20 years ago I had a friend who had an annoying attention seeking behaviour. She wanted the wait staff and guests at the table to know that she's vegetarian and how little options are available… BUT she is okay with consuming chicken, pork and seafood.

HOLY FUCK, WHAT THE FUCK IS SO WRONG WITH BEING EXTRA EARLY?!?

Sure, being SUPER EARLY like an hour is just literally a waste of time, but that's still harmless. Not like whoever boss, date, relative or friend is gonna get pissed of at you because you're really early. That literally makes no sense.

When I have an interview or a doctor appointment, I ALWAYS SHOW UP HALF AN HOUR EARLY. that gives me time to go out paperwork, check in, and just ME mentally prepare myself. Same for a business dinner. Show up early to have time to check in and get seated.

Hey Antonio, thanks for this video! I want you to notice this: it really drives me nuts when someone eating with me makes stupid noises when eating (the noise resulting from the tongue kind of touching the lips, eating with air coming in the mouth while taking the food in the mouth and this one really drives me crazy nervous). I also hate when someone can make noises with fork, my nerves can't take it and I'm getting super nervous and angry. Please make a video on that, I would love to see your reaction.
Thanks again your videos, they help a lot.
