  1. Some of these ski resorts (at least the ones in the Poconos) are also building water parks so that they can have an almost year round revenue stream, which means in the summer when the mountains are useless in terms of skiing and snowboarding, they still have people coming to the resort, and in the winter when the water slides and pools are useless, people are still coming to the resort

  2. I spent years testing rental ski/binding /boot combinations. At one local area o would say over 60% of systems failed. Because of no maintenance and poor care. The setups were about 20'years old. So that's a lot of wear and tear. I was told " you better pass these or I will!" For minimum wage. I would never put anyone in rentals. The lice in the helmets! Shit pumping up from the floor drains people didn't even know. Just dry it up for the day. Ski areas are based on slave labor. If you tested skis off the rack in a rental department you will be surprised how sketchy it can be. 23 days straight working through Christmas, and no overtime. They said Obama took overtime away from seasonal workers!

  3. I kind of disagree with this guy that is majority of smaller ski areas can only on natural snow Due to lower budgets compare to larger ski resorts and majority use snow making machines are used.
By bigger ski resorts to open the resort sooner and stay open longer

  4. The ski fields in Australia are horrible, just a bunch of white people claiming they own the mountain and keep the natives off and all the rich white folk from Melbourne and Sydney act like they have no idea.

  5. Funny how ski resorts complain and protest global warming, when they are hugely carbon intensive and damage the environment by reforming the land. Hypocrisy at its finest.

  6. You and Tier Zoo are some of my favorites you tubers and I can’t imagine how difficult it’s is but you two are by far the worst about ads, half of both your guy’s videos is about curiousity stream and im not paying to watch vids

  7. I had such a good deal when I lived in Aspen in a motorhome I used to work for Ogden foods was it Ogden foods or was it I could have been I could have been another company but anyway I made a deal with Aspen Highlands that for seasons pass I would clean all the glass on every one of their buildings and sort of a good deal I thought

  8. They need to deff include housing for their workers, and food, and free lift passes.. I would easily work for min wage under those terms… If you where a Ski bum, and there are many…

  9. Why are Winter Olympics in Beijing then? Biggest world polluter with crappy artificial snow. I’d protest that if I were competing. Why don’t those towns use rain systems instead of busses. Also, the climate change aspect you’re talking about is total shit. Make better videos

  10. I’ve worked for Vail resorts for seven years most of this information is wrong. The employee housing that they bought is cheap subsidize land that they Did not pay very much money for. They paid contractors not very much money to build them. As far as general Housing goes the employee housing is extremely cheap for them. Yet they charge up to $700 per month for the employees to live there. The employee Housing stands for over 30 years.. to say that employee housing costs Vail or Aspen money is ridiculous they’re actually making thousands of dollars a week off of their employees so in reality they’re actually paying their employees less than minimum wage because they’re making money off of their housing because they own the only affordable housing in town. The largest cost to ski resorts is actually snow making and electricity to run the lifts. It’s extremely expensive and often times local municipalities or national forest want a cut of that as well most of their profits actually come not from Lift sales but from restaurants and food courts something you claimed cost them lots of money. Another thing is until 2020 they never had a labor shortage ever. They will fire you over nothing because they know there’s another young kid waiting to take the job. A lot of what you said here was completely inaccurate. you should’ve called someone actually worked at ski resort for a decade like I have before you said a lot of incorrect information here man.

  11. These ski resort companies have made me stop lift skiing. Thank god for backcountry skiing and earning your turns. I have no desire to go to any resort and deal with the BS.
